About the Teacher

Welcome to Mrs. Peake’s Second Grade!

First of all, I am THRILLED and honored to be your child’s teacher for the 2015-2016 school year! This will be my fourth year at Sarah Smith and first year teaching second grade! I am thankful for the unique opportunity to watch students grow from one grade level to the next as I have taught first grade for the past three years. I received my degree in Early Childhood Education at Auburn University where I had many positive experiences in the classroom. Teaching children has always been a dream and a passion of mine. I know this will be a fantastic year!

I am originally from Macon, Georgia. In June of 2012, I married my high school sweetheart and we moved with our yellow lab named “Miss Honey” to the big city. Atlanta is a wonderful place to call home. My husband and I have an (almost) one year old son named Henry. We feel so fortunate to experience the adventure of parenting. In our spare time, we like to visit Piedmont Park, travel and cheer for the Auburn Tigers-WAR EAGLE!

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child as we embark on an exciting new year of learning! Your child will hear me say, "team work makes the dream work" many times throughout the year. I believe parents and teachers should also work as a team to ensure that children receive the best education possible.

In our class, it is my mission to establish an environment where your child feels valued, engaged, challenged and most importantly EXCITED about learning!
